A rare London delft syrup jar from the Restoration period. Of typical form, it bears the inscription S:JUJUINU (syrup rom the fruit of jujube tree which was used for many medicinal purposes). See "Dated English Delftware" catalogue no 1625 for a jar with very similar fleur-de-lis decoration and which is dated 1670. Wonderful unrestored condition. 7.5 inches high.
