This very fine quality pair of carvings date from the last quarter of the 17th century. One depicts "The Sacrifice of Isaac" showing him kneeling whilst his father Abraham stands above him and in his hand is a sword which is held back by an angel. The other shows "Joseph's Dream" in which he is shown asleep whilst the Angel Gabriel hovers above warning him to flee with his family to escape Herod. They measure 29 inches wide x 19 inches high.
