This large and unusual carving of the Temptation in the Garden of Eden is carved from one piece of oak and includes wreath-like surround and foliate crown. It is unusual in that it shows them in their innocence without fig leaves before The Fall. The serpent has a frilly back and a forked tail and the apple tree appears to have shorn of its lower branches. It has excellent rich colour, is in in good untouched condition and measures 22 inches high x 15 inches wide.
