This mid 17th century oak armchair has a superbly carved back panel, downswept arms and wrap-around seat. The style of carving is attributed by Chinnery to the Salisbury area and he shows a flower motif very similar to this one on a chair in his book fig 4:67. 47 inches overall (20 inches seat height).
